ABOUT THE TOUR:

You’ll visit a local organic cacao farm and delve into the chocolate-making process, from bean to bar.
See cacao pods fresh off the tree with the seed still covered in the fleshy fruit. And learn about harvesting, fermenting and drying the beans.

Participate in this hands-on activity by grinding the cacao into a paste with a mortar and pestle. Once the chocolate paste is set in the fridge to cool, you can taste fresh organic chocolate, no preservatives or artificial fillers – handmade by you.

You also gain insight into the history and significance of cacao in Mayan culture, including its use as currency.
