Santa Teresa R.C. Primary School stands as a beacon of hope for the 80 close-knit families living in the rural village of Santa Teresa. Located approximately 50 miles from Punta Gorda Town in Southern Belize, this community of around 500 people who carry the rich heritage of the Qʼeqchiʼ Maya descent with pride.

Our hope is to lighten the load of learning with the help of our guests by providing essential educational tools for these students. Umaya Resort is a proud partner of Pack for a Purpose, inviting our guests to join us in making a meaningful impact in the lives of the students at Santa Teresa R.C. Primary School. We believe that even the smallest gestures of support can create ripples of positive change, resonating profoundly in the hearts of the Santa Teresa community.

The hardworking inhabitants face challenges in meeting the basic needs of their children. Every day, the students walk to school, a daily journey on foot that symbolizes the community’s commitment to education. However, in the face of their determined efforts, the students are encountering difficulties in numeracy and literacy.
